Updates on the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression along the line of contact between Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Azerbaijan.
Yerevan, November 3-4 2020

– On November 2, at around 18:10 local time, Azerbaijani armed forces opened artillery fire towards the positions of the Armed Forces of  the Republic of Armenia and the settelment of Davit Bek in the Syunik region of Armenia, as a result of which one civilian was killed and two were wounded.

– During the night of  November 2-3,   the Defence Army  of Artsakh led defensive battles in the eastern, south-eastern and southern directions of the Line of Contact and  repelled  the offensive of the Azerbaijani armed forces inflicting heavy losess upon the manpower and equipment, including one tank.
In the early morning of November 3, Azerbaijan opened fire in the direction of the towns of Martuni and Shushi with the use of Smerch MLRS.

– During the day Azerbaijani armed forces, reinforced with foreign terrorist  fighters, launched attacks in southern and northern directions of the front line, but retreated suffering great losses in military equipment and manpower. Azerbaijani armed forces continued subversive penetration attempts in the direction of different settlements, including in the south of Martuni town with the use of armored equipment, air force and artillery but were repelled by the Defence Army of Artsakh. In the northern direction, near Karvachar, Azerbaijani armed forces made infiltration attempts with the use of smoke bombs but were detected and neutralized by artillery fire.

– During the day Azerbaijan continued shelling of the civilian settlements, particularly Shushi, Martuni and the settlements of the Shahumyan region of Artsakh. In the evening Stepanakert was again targeted, including in the direction of Mother and Child Healthcare Center. Two civilians have been wounded in Stepanakert.

In parallel with the targeting of civilian communities, the Azerbaijani
armed forces, especially in recent days, have been deliberately burning
the forested areas of Artsakh. According to preliminary data, they
mainly use banned white phosphorus weapons.
Within the framework of the fact-finding mission of the Artsakh Human
Rights Ombudsman, it was revealed that the deliberate burning of the
forests of Artsakh by the Azerbaijani side is widespread and covers all
regions. According to preliminary data, 1815 hectares of forest area
have already been burned, but fires continue in various areas, and there
is a tendency for rapid growth.
Given the size and geographical coverage of the burned forests, the
population of the Artsakh Republic is facing an environmental
catastrophe, which undermines the environmental security in the region
and contains long-term dangerous consequences for the life and health of
the people of Artsakh. Moreover, the Azerbaijani armed forces, with
these criminal methods, intend to harm the civilian population sheltered
in the forests.
The Ombudsman emphasizes that the deliberate burning of the forests by
the Azerbaijani armed forces is a war crime and calls on the
international community to take practical steps to condemn the
Azerbaijani crimes and punish those responsible.

Mr. President,
I join in the commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the signature of the European Convention on Human Rights – a cornerstone treaty in protecting rights and freedoms of hundreds of millions of Europeans. We share the vision of the Council of Europe that the Convention shall cover all Europeans, notwithstanding the status of the territory they live in. Sadly, it is not the case…

The hostile force used phosphorous munitions containing elements of chemical weapons in the Artsakh-Azerbaijani conflict zone, which is a gross violation of International Humanitarian Law, norms, and principles of Customary Law, Geneva Conventions, as well as the provisions of the relevant UN conventions and documents. Apart from the intent to inflict damage on the Armenian forces, the enemy also aims to cause massive forest fires and create real environmental disaster hazards in the area. Prohibition of the above-mentioned actions and the concomitant rights and values rest primarily in the realm of customary law…

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia and the Human Rights Ombudsman of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) published an ad hoc report on the use of incendiary ammunition of mass destruction (incendiary weapon) containing chemical elements (possibly white phosphorus) against Artsakh by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
“We have the most powerful weapon: ourselves and our unity.” Address by Armen Sarkissian, President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund
“By winning this war, defending our homeland, and not allowing another genocide to be carried out, we will finally understand the power of the Diaspora, which includes the friends of Armenia and the Armenians as well. “We have the support of our true friends who are not Armenians, but share human values with us. In our case, our victory in this war is not aggression, not occupying the land of others, it is the defense of our and your home.
Help us to defend our history, our culture, our faith and our heritage.”
For about two days now, the fighting around Shushi has not stopped. Tonight, last night, quite heavy and intense battles took place in the settlements around Shushi, on the roads leading to Shushi, near Shushi.
If May 8, 1992 was marked in the Armenian history as the day of the liberation of Shushi, then these passing days will enter as brilliant days of the defense of Shushi.
The “Gyorbagyor” military operation to destroy the opponent’s reconnaissance and sabotage tactical groups, mercenaries and bandits continues successfully.
At the moment, the fighting is going on, but the strength has significantly weakened. On other fronts, relatively weak actions generally take place.

The documentary “The Hydra of Terrorism” talks about the new hotbed of terrorists set up in Azerbaijan. Jihadists from Syria, Lybia and Pakistan are transferred here to engage in the war against the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. In Azerbaijan itself bases and camps are also set up to transfer terrorists to different regions as well. Over the past month they were already discovered in Russia. Today Turkey is the center that sponsors, arms, trains and transfers militant mercenaries. Facts, evidence and testimonies of the terrorists themselves are presented in the documentary film “The Hydra of Terrorism”.
We as System Of A Down have just released new music for the first time in 15 years. The time to do this is now, as together, the four of us have something extremely important to say as a unified voice. These two songs, “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” both speak of a dire and serious war being perpetrated upon our cultural homelands of Artsakh and Armenia.
The current corrupt regimes of Aliyev in Azerbaijan and Erdogan in Turkey not only want to claim Artsakh and Armenia as their own, but are committing genocidal acts with impunity on humanity and wildlife to achieve their mission. They are banking on the world being too distracted with COVID, elections and civil unrest to call out their atrocities….
